equipment requirements!

We do not expect you to run out and drop $1000.00 over night, if you can, GREAT! So we devised a flow chart of  the basic equipment that you will need for your first tactical. We will loan some gear to help you get started, but do not rely on it all the time.

Corcoran Jump Boots      Issue boot for US Army paratroopers through 1943. These were also sought after by regular troops who often purloined or "acquired" via alternative means. These feature russet brown leather uppers, toe caps, 12 eyelets, leather soles, slanted heels, rubber "US Army" marked half soles, and "Goodyear" heels. www.atthefront.com or www.ebay.com
M1942 Un-reinforced Jump Uniform      As issued by the quartermaster. These uniforms were worn throughout the War by the 11th, 17th, 82nd, and 101st Airborne Divisions. The reinforced models did not show up until the Normandy campaign and not all troopers were able to get their uniforms modified in time. By wearing the standard uniform instead of the reinforced, it allows you to attend Africa/Italy events accurately, there is photographic evidence of 504th paratroopers wearing their standard 42's in Market Garden, but the M1943 uniform is preferred. www.athtefront.com is the preferred vendor of the "imported standard 42 uniform"

Web Gear (2 options)

Garand Belt      The 10 pocket Garand belt is a great belt if your preferred weapon is the M1 Garand, adjustable for larger troopers and is easily found. You will also need combat suspenders to carry your mussette, canteen, with cup and e-tool
Pistol Belt      The Pistol belt is accurate for the 82, but you will need to acquire "rigger pouches" which can be costly. You will also need combat suspenders to carry your mussette, canteen, with cup and e-tool, if you choose to be a medic, there would be no reason to have a Garand Belt
E-Tools      Several options: T-handle shovel, pick-mattock or US Issue folding shovel, appropriate cover must be obtained
Garrison Cap      You will need a EM Garrison cap, with blue piping if you are infantry, with the red and blue glider/para patch. www.wwiiimpressions.com has the best caps.
